July and August are the busiest months, which means the beaches are often overcrowded on Sunday; however, during the summer, it is really active with lots of festivals and outdoor stuff. Spring and autumn are characterized by relatively low temperatures and fewer tourists; this is a suitable time for traveling to the sea and sightseeing.

The chapel, known as Capela da Nossa Senhora da Rocha, once stood on this site, projecting onto a significant cliff.
