A dozen or so kilometers to the west, Praia da Marinha (15) is around 50 kilometers from Faro, the Algarve’s capital, and 20 kilometers from Portimão.Coming by public transportation isn't impossible.

• From Faro: Take the A22 highway and drive for about 40 minutes, following signs to Portimão. Take the exit to Alvor and drive straight to the beach.
