Algar Seco is a spectacular rocky formation pounded by the waves. It is connected to Carvoeiro town centre with a wooden boardwalk which makes great access for wheelchairs and buggies for families.

From "A Boneca" ("The Doll") cave, you can see the whole area. Its name comes from the fact that it is inside a doll-like peak. Two rusty holes inside let you know the ocean and take good pictures. Few people are fit, so leave. Not only do some people enjoy here, but others do too. On some days, people wait in line outside to take pictures inside.

What is Algar Seco?

Algar Seco is a natural rock formation in Algarve close to Carvoeiro. It is well-known for its dramatic rock formations, which the sea's powerful force sculpted over many years. The unique mix of arches, caves, and limestone cliffs makes a stunning scenery that draws people worldwide.

How can I reach Algar Seco?

To access the wonders of Algar Seco, you can take the Carvoeiro Boardwalk, also known as Passadiços do Carvoeiro or Caminho do Seco. Along the cliff's edge is a 570m wooden board providing a pathway. Besides, it will take you through a trail where there are information boards on the flora and fauna of this part of the Algarve.

Stretching about a kilometer directly on the cliff edge, this wooden path is well-kept. It provides terrific views over the coastline and the fascinating rocks at the bottom. Any of the destinations you travel to in East Asia affords you the feeling of the fantastic boardwalk and the sound of the mighty waves, thus preparing your senses for the trekking adventure.

The Doll Cave, also known as Boneca in the area, is one of the most well-known spots on the Carvoeiro Boardwalk. This beautiful cave looks like a face looking out over the water, making it a magical sight for tourists. As you get closer to Boneca, the sound of waves crashing inside the cave makes it feel strange and exciting. Take the chance to take pictures of this amazing sight and create memories that will last a lifetime.
